In California, SUV Rollover Crash

Riverside, Ca- Riverside Police officers responded to a call of a rollover traffic collision in the 200-block of North Main Street in Riverside’s Northside industrial area.

According to the initial investigation, a gray 1988 Suzuki Samurai, driven by Conrad Trujillo, 90, of Riverside, appears to have made a left turn from northbound North Main into the path of a southbound 1991 GMC two-ton truck, owned by Ross Fence Co. of Riverside, and operated by Gilbert Walter Scholl, 41, of Riverside.

Despite braking, the heavy truck collided with the right front fender of the small SUV, causing it to overturn at least twice, ending up on its driver’s door. Trujillo was partly ejected from his vehicle but was conscious and responsive when officers arrived. The soft-topped vehicle was equipped with a roll bar. Trujillo was treated by Riverside Fire Department paramedics and transported by AMR ambulance to Riverside Community Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The investigation continues.
