Border Patrol Agent Dies in Single Car Accident

The CBP family has suffered a great loss with the death of Senior Border Patrol Agent David N. Webb, who died in the line of duty near Ajo, Ariz. Agent Webb was a dedicated husband and father who spent his professional life serving his nation as a member of the Border Patrol and the National Guard.

Senior Patrol Agent Webb, while on patrol, was involved in a single-car accident and sustained fatal injuries. Agent Webb died at the scene. He was 35 years old.

“I am deeply saddened by the loss of such a valued, selfless and vibrant member of our team,” said CBP Commissioner W. Ralph Basham. “It is a stark reminder of the risks our frontline employees accept each day as they work to secure our nation.”

Agent Webb was a graduate of Border Patrol Academy class #580 and began duty as a Border Patrol Agent on February 23, 2004. Agent Webb was stationed in the Tucson Sector at the Ajo Border Patrol station.

Agent Webb is survived by his wife Celia, their two sons, his parents and three sisters.

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff ordered all flags at DHS facilities to be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on November 9th to honor the sacrifice and contributions of Agent Webb.
