Car Accidents Kill 4 Teenagers in Bristol and 2 Women in Windsor

Thursday 8/23/07 brought tragedy to Connecticut when four teenagers were killed in a car accident on Route 6 in Bristol.  Unfortunately, more tragedies occured in the two days afterwards.  On Friday, 8/24/07, three people were critically injured on Route 2 in Glastonbury, and two women were killed on Saturday, 8/25/07 on I-91 in Windsor.

The Bristol accident occured just before 11:30pm on Thursday night when 18 year old Sean Landry lost control of his vehicle killing himself, Alyssa Roy, 16, Jordan Gagnon, 16, and Myles Gosselin, 17.  The car was sliding sideways across into oncoming traffic when it was hit broadside by a Ford Taurus.

The Glastonbury accident occured around 7:30pm Friday night and involved just one vehicle.  Police reported that the 1994 Ford Explorer lost control, swerved across the highway, rolled several times, ejected two passengers, partially ejected the third passenger, and finally came to a halt upside down.

The Saturday accident that killed Helen Hamilton, 67, and Betty Hazel, 75, occured at 1:30 am when Louis Medina, 21, rear ended their 2001 Ford Focus.  Medina had just celebrated his 21st birthday on that Thursday.  He was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Witnesses reported that Medina's 2005 Nissan Maxima was driving very fast through the streets before the accident.  Charges against him are currently pending.
