In Ohio, Tractor Trailer Hits Car Leaving One Dead

Interstate 270 was closed for more than four hours on the morning of Thursday, June 14, 2007 on the city's north side after a crash killed one person.

The accident happened around 1:00 am on I-270, west of I-71, when a tractor trailer struck a disabled car.

Police said that while there is construction currently going on on the interstate, there is a berm for cars to pull over in case of an emergency.  The car that was hit, though, was stopped in a lane of traffic.

The driver of the car was killed.  The driver of the tractor trailer was taken to the hospital but was not seriously injureed.

The tractor trailer was carrying about 2,700 pounds of steel.
