Aloha Woman Dies in Car Crash That Injures Three Others

Summary of Incident:2007 Mustang convertibleOn July 23, 2008 at 3:27 PM, Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a vehicle crash at the intersection of SW Baseline Road and SW 206th Avenue. This area is in the Enhanced Sheriff’s Patrol District (ESPD). There were four vehicles involved. One person died and three more were injured and transported to the hospital.Details of Incident:Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived and found four vehicles were involved in a major crash in the Intersection of SW Baseline Road and SW 206th Avenue. The initial investigation revealed that a 1991 Chevy pickup was westbound on SW Baseline Road and collided into the driver’s side of a 2007 Mustang convertible that was traveling southbound on SW 206th Avenue. This collision caused the Mustang to crash into a 2001 Honda van and a 1997 Dodge van. The Honda and Dodge received minor damages and the drivers were not injured.The driver of the Mustang was deceased at the scene. She was identified as 47 year-old, Laura Paprocki, from the Aloha area. Paprocki’s 19 year-old son was in the passenger’s seat and was transported to the hospital. He is listed in serious condition. The driver of the Chevy truck was identified as 34 year-old, Brandon Bertschy, from Hillsboro. Mr. Bertschy was transported to the hospital and is listed in serious condition. Mr. Bertschy had his eight year-old nephew with him as a passenger in the pickup. His nephew was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.Witnesses told Deputies that the Mustang had a green light as it entered the intersection. The Crash Analysis Reconstructive Team (CART) responded to assist with the investigation. The investigation is continuing.
